This beautiful book is like an extended parable about love, life, and listening to your heart. Menna van Praag has a lovely way of weaving words in a simple yet inspiring manner that leaves you pondering them for hours afterward. I read this by the pool in the sunshine, but now that fall has arrived I’m going to cozy up with it again by the fireplace. It’s just that sort of delectable (and re-readable!) treat for the senses. What’s great about it is that it has the feel of a “Under The Tuscan Sun” type of story, with a very strong message about living from the heart instead of from the futile desire to find happiness outside ourselves. An absolute must-read, and a great gift idea for your girlfriends!

  2. This book was so amazing. It was like eating an amazing chocolate cake. I identified so much with the main character, Maya. Throughout the story she became a good friend (which the best characters always do).

It was a wonderful story, but realistic. It was not presented like a fairy tale – that once you “get it” life just works out. Sometimes we need to learn lessons a couple times before they stick. :) The book demonstrates that life is to be lived moment by moment and that while transformation is magical, it is not a magic pill.

I super loved this book. It is so rich and has so many truths, but it is so easy to digest because its in an amazing story. I plan to read it again and again.

I really recommend this book to anyone that feels lost, who want wants to be uplifted – or anyone that just wants an amazing read that will enhance your life. :)

  5. Menna van Praag is a wonderful storyteller; her writing is so colorful and vivid. I magically felt transported into her book, as if I was an invisible character, following “Maya”, on her journey of self-discovery. I was tasting the chocolate caramel flapjacks in her Cocoa Cafe, feeling the excitement of possibility in her London Flat, and experiencing the majesty of the moment, when Maya would make leaps of faith, trusting her heart. Within the pages of this sweet and touching story, I have found new inspiration to go for my dreams. This book is the perfect reminder that having a great life is our human birthright.

Authors Ariel & Shya Kane are also gifted storytellers who show the easy way

to enlightenment in their books, Being Here: Modern Day Tales of Enlightenment

and How to Create a Magical Relationship. If you want to discover the

magic of living in the moment and the reality of living life with ease, I highly

suggest checking out books by the Kanes and Menna van Praag.
